“Maryam and her team are extremely kind, helpful, dedicated, and caring. I’ve had the opportunity to consult with a few therapists and was able to find the right fit. I highly recommend this practice :)”

“We sought couples therapy through Lavender Psychotherapy during some stressful life circumstances and invested substantial time and energy into the process. Unfortunately, our experience with Alexandra left us feeling worse, not better. Despite advertising a background in trauma, she did not demonstrate that ability clinically. Comments such as, "This doesn't sound like much of a relationship" and "________ is sitting next to you crying and you aren't even doing anything" felt judgmental, dismissive, and lacking in the empathy and curiosity one would expect from a mental health professional. While therapeutic approaches can differ, people should never leave therapy feeling blamed or shamed for struggling. This was particularly difficult because we liked Alexandra personally during our initial interactions, but it became clear that the support we needed was not what we received. What mostly prompted this review, however, was how my concerns were handled afterward. I submitted detailed written feedback and made multiple good-faith attempts to understand what happened and have a constructive conversation about the experience. I was not seeking a refund. I was seeking clarification, accountability, and closure after months of engaging in this process. Instead, I was repeatedly redirected to other individuals, given generic responses, and ultimately told that no further discussion would occur. Despite numerous requests, no one from the practice was willing to have a conversation with me about my concerns. There is also no accountability process within the organization, as everyone is an independent contractor. The experience ended up feeling unprofessional, impersonal, and dismissive. I would strongly recommend against going to Lavender Psychotherapy for all the reasons listed above.”Read moreShow less
