“- Expectations were incorrectly set. A process that was indicated at a few weeks took many, many months. Overall a process that was told to me that it would take 4-6 weeks took approximately 9 months. - Office Administration is a mess. They attempt to book appointments with less than a week notice, struggle on how to start a online meeting and their email response is poor. Appointments ran long with no communication to parent and no secretary to even ask what was happening. - The reports provided feel very templated and not personalized. I would NOT recommend.”Read moreShow less

“I've made an appointment [1st one] for my 16 yr. old daughter to see Dr. Sherry Van Blyderveen. Received reminder call a day prior & confirmed my daughter's presence. Showed up on time with my daughter. Heard voices from one of the rooms. After 15 min waiting a woman peeked into the waiting room and quickly retreated to her room. Literally no word, no eye contact, nothing. All other rooms were locked and there was no secretary present. That's it. Super unprofessional for not calling us to cancel/postpone the appointment due to whatever might have happened. No call back after either. Absolutely unacceptable [non]service. Van Blyderveen if you ever read this: shame on you. If I could give you no stars - as in zero - I would. 01May 2018 UPDATE: last week we have received "Balance owing" letter from New Leaf. It left us speechless. For a December 2016 appointment that Van Blyderveen did not show up for!? Think about it for a moment..... This is wrong on so many levels. Letter outlines payment options and threatens with collection if account is not settled. Also, yesterday we have received a phone call from front desk assistant. Yep; telling us about the past due payment. She was courteous and very polite and after explaining that Van Blyderveen did not show up for the appointment she apologized and promised to take care of the issue. Thank you. Still - Unbelievable. Negative 5 stars.”Read moreShow less

“I was very dissatisfied with the sessions with Sherry, so much so I had to write this review to get it off my palate. Many times it felt like we were not even in the same session. Major topics and concerns that were brought up we would talk about for mere minutes and then they became forgotten not to be brought up again. She was a very poor listener in this regard. She seemed to have a cookie cutter approach and in my opinion may be out of touch with male perspective. I believe she starts her sessions with presumptions before collecting information. When she got to talking you could not get a word in edgewise to clarify. At least 2 sessions were filled with slightly off topic banter but enough to fill the hour for a paid session. I could write many more points of dissatisfaction; summarily for us I believe we could have accomplished much more with a different Dr.”Read moreShow less

“I decided to give this place a try despite the reviews and I am so beyond glad that I did. I have been going to New Leaf for a few months now and have only had positive experiences thus far. The psychologist I meet with is lovely and I have no plans of leaving. The reception ladies are wonderful too, always greeting me with a warm smile and helping me book more appointments. I feel bad for the people that gave this place poor reviews. They either did not put their own effort into their appointments or are too upset with themselves to see the good. I hope my review helps those that are looking for a psychologist. Therapy is not something they can do for you, you must put the work in yourself to be successful. Bless you all and your mental health.”Read moreShow less

“Honestly so upset after visiting New Leaf. I had read a few unpleasant review but kept an open mind going in, however that was the greatest mistake I've ever made in my life. Unprofessional, unethical and disgustingly dirty, I would never return. Please everyone stay away from this organization. So upset.”Read moreShow less

“If I could give a half star I would. I had an appointment and then one day before the scheduled appointment, they called and said they had double booked my appointment slot. This was an inconvenience as I had already made arrangements to stay at a hotel because we had moved the day prior. They do not run their business well at all. I do not recommend this place to anyone.”Read moreShow less

“Like all therapy/counselling, you get what you put into it. I haven't encountered any of the issues that some of the other people writing reviews have, so I can't speak to that. My experience is that the counsellors at New Leaf are professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly, effective. If only the cost could be covered by OHIP... :(”Read moreShow less

“Utterly unprofessional. While I cannot comment on the quality of the psychological care that New Leaf provides, I can tell you that their office staff leave so very much to be desired. I have been trying for 5 weeks to get my teenage daughter in for an appointment. The first appointment, I was given a 1 PM appointment time, and was called and reminded of a 1 PM appointment time. We were left sitting in the waiting room over an hour until finally inquiring why we hadn't been seen. It turns out the appointment time was 11 AM and the Dr had already left for the day. Second appointment, we were booked for an appointment where the Dr wasn't even in the office that day. Third appointment, I called to confirm our appointment just over an hour prior to the appointment time (which was confirmed). After being left to sit in the waiting room for over an hour, we were told that our appointment had been cancelled (apparently calling to confirm you appointment results in a cancelled appointment). I cannot express how frustrated I am with this company's lack of professionalism, and organisation. Highly do not recommend.”Read moreShow less
