“I worked with DMI when I took a medical leave from my job. Luckily my company benefits included DMI's services for long-term medical leave. Working with the team there was instrumental in getting me back to a place where felt like I could go back to work successfully. My case worker and I developed a return to work program with my company that allowed me to ease my way back to work; offering support the whole way. My case worker was in regular weekly contact with me and the services and assistance offered took so much stress off my shoulders in an already nearly unbearable time. I am so thankful and grateful, specifically to Carmen for all the help and support. I truly feel that I would not have been able to make a successful return to work on my own. I'm so glad DMI was there for me!”Read moreShow less

“There mission statement "When health events happen, we use the most effective strategies to restore employees and keep business working." None of which is true the opposite is. Haven't seen one effective strategies out side of making my healing take longer and be more stressful. They keep the business going without the injured employe they are abusive and disrespect to the injured worker. They lie and act like work safe and do not have any interest of who the actual injured person is. A cold business that makes money off limiting injured people access to healing. They will act as they care however money is their bottom line. Then expect respect when they don't respect the human being. It sad they treat humans like numbers. Google ask me for a picture for the review. I don't have any of my kids asking when I wont be injured any more. When will Dad be back they ask my wife.”Read moreShow less

“DMI has been of great help to us in managing occupational injuries. Their proactive claims management has helped us reduce time loss. They have also helped us to obtain relief of cost for some claims, improving our experience rating, resulting in lower premium rates. We appreciate and benefit from the expertise and responsiveness of our DMI Claims Coordinator.”Read moreShow less

“My husband and I found out this week that our baby has passed away and we are preparing for a still birth. To qualify for our medical benefits we will need a doctor at the birth to fill out a form for DMI. We have requested the form. My husband has called, left many messages, emailed many people. He gets passed around person to person. It has been days in waiting and now it’s the weekend. We still have not received the form. Sepsis is a real concern if we don’t deliver soon but it doesn’t seem to be a priority to DMI to support their clients in urgent situations. In our greatest time of grief it has been met with a lack of support from an agency that is support people. This organization really needs to re-think their business model.”Read moreShow less

“The perfect exercise in increasing your stress and anxiety is having your company work with DMI for short term/long-term disability. They are great at making sure every single step of the process is like being flayed, they're great at making YOU feel like the problem, and they're even better at taking 11 business days to send you the wrong information and then delaying your return to work because of their incompetence. If I could force my worst enemy to go through this process, it would be considered so inhumane as to trigger investigation by the Geneva convention. Edit April 22: DMI is uniquely unable to follow directions. After requesting exclusively email correspondence moving forward, I have been passed around to new agents who again insist on phone communication which caused my original issues and exacerbate the misunderstandings. Their inability to listen makes them impossible to work with.”Read moreShow less

“Received a doctors note for STD, submitted everything, then the B.S. began! Alisia advised she would call the next day to advise a decision...10 days later, still nothing! Then a phone call later, I was advised by the following Monday, she would let me know. No call that Monday, but Tuesday I was denied coverage. This company will do absolutely everything to deny you coverage. PATHETIC!!!”Read moreShow less

“Insurance is as insurance company goes. The service started out excellent for my partner on LTD when Senior Case Managers handled the case. After it was transferred to a third Case Manager, the customer service and care went heartlessly downhill. The so-called Transferable Skills Assessment was a disorganized phone "interview" where it would have been more effective to have just asked for a resume rather than a call asking for someone's full employment history without forewarning. The Work Health Consultant is as the previous review described. Their goal is to get you out of the system with as minimum time as possible, using a lot of "sweet words" to "encourage" you to take a demotion so that they deliver the minimum viable service. The Consultant uses persuasion tactics to override healthcare practitioners' opinions. Consultant claims as "misunderstanding". We have written confirmation that the Consultant was "adamant" and "on a long phone call". Information is always discussed only verbally on the phone, and so plans can change as discussed without accountability. I see other reviews garnered a response from "info@" email asking to reach out, but sadly, I fear it is just for sake of presence on social media because none of the reviews have been updated. If DMI wishes to respond, my first question is: Must an insurance company share the whole case file with the patient if requested at no cost? If there is no direct answer, then we can all see services are not transparent and hence questionable. There is no private information associated with this question, so confidentiality cannot be used as an excuse.”Read moreShow less
