About Vickie

Vickie graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1994 and has been working with sport and fitness athletes for 29 years as a registered physiotherapist. She is a National Strength & Conditioning Association Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA CSCS), a certified Functional Movement Screen Level 2 practitioner, a certified Pilates instructor, and has earned her certificate as a Health & Wellness Lifestyle Coach through York University. As an HTCP Level 2 Trainer, she was the trainer for several Clarington Girls Hockey & Clarington Minor Lacrosse teams, & designed training/injury reduction programs for Team Ontario Lacrosse. Vickie strongly believes in the power of movement as medicine. She bases her treatments on optimizing her client’s ability to move in a way that is healthy and efficient, creating the foundation to improve fitness, acquire the attributes important to sport performance and reduce risk of injury. Vickie has developed an extensive toolbox of hands-on skills to help her clients achieve their goals, including functional dry needling, soft tissue release, manual therapy and kinesiotaping. Vickie is faculty in the schools of Health Science and Sport and Recreation at Canadore College and Physical Education at Nipissing University. She practices what she preaches, keeping strong and fit with weight training, mountain biking, kayaking and hiking.
