About Trevor

Most kids from Thunder Bay, Ontario grow up playing hockey, throwing snowballs, and camping in any conditions; Trevor is no different. He’s spent numerous hours on the ice and in the outdoors hiking, snowboarding, skiing, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting. With this type of active lifestyle from such a young age it is inevitable to find yourself in rehab settings. Trevor found interest in this process and went on to graduate with Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology from Lakehead U, has spent time in the doctorate of Chiropractic program at Northwestern HSU and obtained UBC’s Master of Physical Therapy degree. Trevor now consults with high level amateur and pro athletes ranging from Golfers, Olympic Lifters, Soccer Players, Sprinters, Baseball and Volleyball players to improve their movement efficiency. Strength and conditioning, performance and return to sport continue to be a major component of his practice, along with return to work and function for the general population. Trevor’s vision as the founder of The Physio Shop is to provide patients with the highest level of care and the best possible customer service experience. He and his colleagues pride themselves on their approachability and practicality of the services they provide. Trevor has prior experience as clinician and manager of a hand therapy clinic in New Westminster and has challenged the Hand Therapy Certification Exam. He is also an IMS/ Dry Needling certified practitioner.

I just had my first session with Trevor, and it was phenomenal. I have a new understanding of my body and how to address old injuries. As important, I have a deeper appreciation for how my mind, body, and spirit are connected, of how to heal and keep getting stronger. Thank you, Trevor - I’ll be back!

Update April 3, 2026: Trevor and I met for coffee and we had a grear conversation. It gave us the opportunity to connect as humans, first and for me to share more about my experience. It's evident to me now that Trevor really care about providing the best treatment to his clients and truly is open to feedback. He truly listened to what i had to say and I was able to share what I'm looking for and what I personally need. This process made me realize how aligned Trevor and I are in our values. I'm looking forward to working with him and his team to meet my recovery goals and to hopefully have far more pain-free days. Original review: I have generally enjoyed most of my sessions with Trevor. He has a great sense of humor, demonstrates strong clinical knowledge, and provides a variety of helpful stretches and exercises. I also appreciate his direct and straightforward communication style. However, as someone who was referred to Trevor with complex, chronic pain, I found my last two sessions disappointing. While I do not believe there was any intention to invalidate my pain, I left feeling that my concerns were not fully understood. This has been particularly challenging, as I have recently needed to advocate more actively to have my symptoms taken seriously within the healthcare system. During these sessions, there was a strong focus on mental health and mindset as primary contributors to my worsening pain, along with a recommendation to increase exercise to build tolerance. In my case, this guidance has not been appropriate and has the potential to be harmful. I am currently undergoing evaluation for a complex condition in which overexertion can exacerbate symptoms, and my needs extend beyond general exercise-based strategies. If my situation were that straightforward, I would not be seeking physiotherapy or investing significant time and money into ongoing care. I came in expecting a level of clinical curiosity and responsiveness that reflects the complexity of chronic pain presentations. I recognize that managing complex chronic pain can be challenging and may reflect broader gaps in training or awareness within the field. I am sharing this feedback in the hope that it may be helpful for both practitioners and other patients seeking care. As someone who has worked with multiple healthcare providers and continues to look for the right fit, I place significant value on client reviews when making decisions about my care.

With much respect and appreciation, I highly recommend Trevor. With a significant injury which prevented me from working and enjoying many of life’s activities, Trevor is caring and thoughtful through my recovery. Although I am still on my recovery journey his encouragement and professionalism leaves me feeling very optimistic. Thank you Trevor for your knowledge and expertise. Thanks for being my Rockstar! Michelle

I went to see Trevor to work on an injury that I have been dealing with for several years. After one physiotherapy session, I was surprised by the results. This has resolved my back pain and tightness and significantly improved my range of motion. The exercises have substantially improved my quality of life in a very short period. I would recommend Trevor to anyone serious about working through an injury or any type of imbalance.
