About Taylor

#ACCEPTING NEW CHILD/YOUTH CLIENTS Taylor is a dedicated and experienced social worker with several years of professional and volunteer experience in mental health and social service settings. She is deeply committed to meeting clients where they are and approaches her work through an intersectional lens that thoughtfully considers the many dimensions of each individual’s life and identity. Taylor earned her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from MacEwan University in 2021, completing two practicum placements in child- and family-focused agencies. She went on to obtain her Master of Social Work (MSW) with a Clinical Specialization in Infant, Child, and Adolescent Mental Health from University of Calgary in 2024. During her graduate studies, she completed a clinical placement as a student therapist with the Child Abuse Team at the Luna Child and Youth Advocacy Centre. Taylor is passionate about supporting children, youth, and families in building collaborative therapeutic relationships that foster meaningful growth and transformation. She understands that therapy is not one-size-fits-all—especially for young people. Her practice begins with establishing a trusting and safe therapeutic space through a trauma-informed, client- and family-centred approach. Drawing on her strong foundation in child and adolescent development, Taylor integrates a range of evidence-based modalities tailored to each client’s unique needs. These include Therapeutic Play, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (including Trauma-Focused CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, and Attachment-Based Therapy. Treatment planning is guided by a comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessment, along with the goals and hopes identified by the child, youth, and their caregivers. Taylor prioritizes caregiver involvement in the therapeutic process to strengthen support systems and promote sustainable, long-term growth. Her professional experience spans healthcare, non-profit organizations, government services, sexual violence support, child development, and crisis intervention. Taylor holds a Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills from the Rocky Mountain Play Therapy Institute and a Certificate in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina. She has also completed extensive additional training to support her work with anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioural challenges, emotional regulation, neurodiversity, and parent–child relationships. Recognizing that therapy can feel intimidating, Taylor is intentional about creating a warm, welcoming, and playful environment—particularly for children and youth—where they feel safe to express themselves openly and even look forward to attending sessions.
