Sydney grew up in Okotoks, Alberta, and completed a Bachelor of Music in Integrated Studies with a minor in Psychology at the University of Calgary. She later earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Sydney has over five years of experience supporting individuals of all ages with diverse abilities. Her certifications include Spark the Change: Hastings’ Protocol for FES/NMES, Concussion Awareness Training Tool, Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider, to name a few. She also attended the Saskatoon Rehabilitation Conference 2025, the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy Conference 2025, and Patient Engagement in Cerebral Palsy Research at the University of Calgary. She is passionate about working with children and committed to providing individualized, strengths-based care that honours each client’s unique profile. Her approach is neuroaffirming, play-focused, and centered on fostering meaningful participation in everyday activities. Drawing on her background in music, Sydney thoughtfully incorporates musical elements into her occupational therapy practice, using them as a tool to support engagement, regulation, and connection in a way that aligns with each individual’s needs and interests. In her free time, Sydney enjoys playing the trumpet with various bands and ensembles, as well as spending time outdoors through activities like hiking, kayaking, and exploring nature.
