“I remember asking our pediatrician “do you think she will walk?” After receiving my 2 year old daughters cri du chat diagnosis And the answer that I wanted was “yes I believe she will” but the answer we got was “she has a chance”. And that’s exactly what the Canadian centre for development has given her…a chance. They filled my heart with hope through every second shes stood on her own. Through every independent step she has taken. And every after session hug she has given to each PT/OT/SLP. Through every “GO CALI GO”, every “she’s so STRONG”, every “IMPRESSIVE”, every “I’m so proud” and of course every “itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout” A centre I was so unsure about if it was the right move for her…. Has not only changed our whole world but it has changed her entire life through their kindness, their support and their dedication to children like her. We did a 3 week intensive And have secured our spot in March to come back again. And although it’s been the most difficult journey we’ve had it’s also been the most rewarding/heartwarming experience with the best people who have support her and our family the whole way! I cannot wait to bring her back in March to see all these wonderful people that have become amazing friends to us again.”Read moreShow less

“CCD has been a lovely experience with our 20 month old son for physical therapy. Dipika our PT, has been great to work with on a weekly basis. She is able to provide extensive knowledge and experience with every session and makes our son very comfortable when doing the exercises meanwhile involving play so that he is not overexerted. The clinic has such a variety of equipment, tools & toys to enable us to see progress each week. We would highly recommend CCD!”Read moreShow less

“We had such an amazing experience at the Canadian Centre for Development! We were unsure of what to expect for our 3-week intensive therapy program but had heard positive things from others. Our intensive program exceeded our expectations. The centre itself is excellent, and we really appreciated the sensory room for downtime between appointments, as well as the kitchen for snacks and meals. All of the therapists and staff were absolutely amazing and incredibly knowledgeable. We saw a lot of improvement for our daughter and continue to see her being more confident. We are very grateful for the opportunity to work with the team there and will definitely be back in the future!”Read moreShow less

“We were unsure of what to expect of the three week intensive program when we booked it, but we knew we wanted to try anything to help our baby girl improve her mobility. She suffered strokes at birth and was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. The intensive therapy was more than we could ever expect. Our 10 month old daughter was sitting for 5 seconds (which we were so happy about) and after a week of therapy she was sitting for over two minutes. The therapists and assistants were incredibly kind and worked so hard to push her limits and make the experience enjoyable for her. I would highly recommend going to Canadian Centre for Development for an intensive program if your child is delayed or has mobility issues. They were able to use different techniques to propel my daughter’s mobility development and help set a plan for home use. We are so happy we decided to try this therapy program and we plan to book more.”Read moreShow less

“We cannot say enough great things about SMILE and everyone of their team members!! Our daughter is the most risk-adverse child there is and the team quickly got her comfortable with being uncomfortable without any distress. Our daughter looked forward to seeing and hugging everyone each morning and afternoon even when knowing hard work was waiting for her. The team was so accommodating with us being from out of town and allowed us to camp out a bit before our long drive back home. We even made some friends in the lunch room before we left for our drive back to Edmonton which set the tone for our long drive. We love SMILE and will be back in the spring!”Read moreShow less

“I was advised to check SMILE therapy when they opened in Calgary and this was the best advice we could have received. This place its beautiful for the families and kids, all the walls have beautiful themes that call for inclusion, the equipment is new and amazing, but the Best of Smile is their people. We have worked with PT, OT, speech therapist, and massage therapy. Everyone surpassed my expectations. Everyone is so knowledgeable in their areas, and all loving to my son. We truly found an amazing team that cares for my son and pushes him in the right way. As a parent of a child with special needs, I have learned so much with them, they always hear my concerns, don't hesitate in sharing how to replicate the exercises at home, and make sure I go home knowing what to do.”Read moreShow less
