About Sophia
#ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
Sophia is deeply passionate about supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate life’s challenges. She helps clients reframe and rewrite the narratives they hold about themselves, fostering healing, growth, and renewed self-understanding.
With a strong belief in the innate resilience of people, Sophia trusts that—when given the right support—we can not only overcome adversity but grow through it. Grounded in the understanding that healing happens in connection and community, she creates a warm, compassionate space where clients are gently guided toward greater self-compassion, deeper insight into relational patterns, and more authentic living. Her work invites exploration of meaningful connections, unhelpful dynamics, and new perspectives.
Sophia practices from a humanistic, person-centered approach, deeply valuing authenticity, cultural sensitivity, and non-judgment. She is committed to co-creating a safe, trusting therapeutic environment where clients feel empowered to show up as their full selves, knowing they will be met with empathy, kindness, and genuine care.
To meet the unique needs of each person she works with, Sophia takes an integrative approach, drawing from a diverse range of therapeutic modalities. Her work incorporates evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy, along with interventions from narrative therapy, mindfulness, and strength-based approaches. This flexible, holistic framework allows her to provide care that is personalized, responsive, and rooted in each client’s goals and lived experience.
Sophia is a Registered Provisional Psychologist and a member in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She has completed Level 1 Training in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy and is a certified Grief Recovery Specialist through the Grief Recovery Institute.
She provides therapy for individuals aged 10 and up—including adults and seniors—as well as for couples and families. Sophia supports clients working through a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma and PTSD, stress and burnout, low self-esteem, relationship issues, postpartum depression, acculturative and immigration-related stress, and major life transitions. Grounded in trauma-informed care and guided by compassion, Sophia offers a therapeutic experience designed to empower clients and support meaningful, lasting change.
