About Payton

#ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS As a registered provisional psychologist, Payton draws from a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and integrates them in ways that feel meaningful and practical for each individual she works with. She recognizes that no two people experience the world in the same way, and therefore her therapy is never one-size-fits-all. Payton tailors her work to each client’s needs, pace, goals, and strengths. She takes a collaborative, strengths-based approach and places great value on creating a space where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and understood. Payton believes that each person is the expert in their own life, and she walks alongside them in the therapeutic process. Together, she works with clients to bring clarity to what has shaped their experiences, build deeper self-understanding, and move toward a life that reflects their values and feels authentically their own. Payton is mindful of giving clients space to lead when that feels helpful, allowing room to explore what feels most important to them. At the same time, when it would be supportive, she can take a more active role by offering guidance, practical tools, reflections, and gentle invitations to consider new perspectives. She aims to move at a pace that feels right for each individual, balancing warmth with thoughtful direction so the work feels both supportive and meaningful. Payton has a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent clients. Receiving her ADHD diagnosis later in life brought clarity and a deeper understanding of herself, and strongly influenced her path into psychology. It strengthened her commitment to offering therapy that is neurodiversity-affirming, evidence-based, and grounded in lived understanding. She recognises how tiring it can be to navigate systems that were not designed for neurodivergent minds, and how often people carry years of masking or self-doubt. Her approach centres on reducing shame, fostering self-compassion, and helping clients build strategies that honour how their brains work rather than trying to change who they are. Provisional Psychologist Billing and Insurance Reimbursement Please note that provisional psychologists are not eligible to provide direct billing through TELUS eClaims insurance providers.
