About Patrick

Patrick is a registered physiotherapist who has been practicing in Ottawa for 10 years. He completed his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta in 2011. He has since continued his education through advanced training and certifications including Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physical Therapy and Functional Dry Needling. --- As a child, Patrick played a variety of different recreational sports. But it was in his early 20s that he discovered the sport of triathlon and was immediately hooked. He swam. He biked. He ran. He raced. He read everything he could about triathlon. He talked to everyone who would listen to him talk about triathlon. Then, he swam, biked, ran, and raced some more. Eventually, Partick became a coach for the University of Alberta Triathlon Club, where he discovered another passion - one for helping others find and achieve their goals. That passion was what eventually led him to pursue a career in physiotherapy. After all that triathlon training, it turned out Patrick had a bit of talent in distance running. So, while studying to become a physiotherapist, he competed for the University of Alberta Golden Bears varsity team in Cross-Country and Track and Field. In his words, he just barely made the team as a walk-on, but earned the opportunity to compete in both CIS National Championships and NCAA D1 races. After university, Patrick took to the roads, chasing down PBs at races from the 10K (33m) to the Marathon (2h40m). These days you can find Patrick running along the Ottawa River with a big smile on his face. He may even appear in a local road race. But for now, as a father of two adventurous young girls, life is too busy for serious training. So until his eventual comeback, he maintains his fitness by digging giant snow forts, building backyard rinks, and chasing kids through sprinklers. --- Education: * MSc. I had injured my Achilles training for Ottawa Race weekend last year. I visited Patrick for an assessment and continued working with him for the following months! Patrick is amazing at what he does and helped me get back to running the way I want in no time. I’d highly recommend Patrick to anyone with running injuries or any other physio needs! Thanks again :)
