If grief has reshaped your world, or you're navigating what it means to build a life away from the country you grew up in, Parinaz could be a perfect match for you. Her practice covers grief and loss, immigration and life transitions, family conflict, trauma, chronic pain, and the anxiety and depression that often travel alongside them. Parinaz draws on Systemic Therapy, Psychodynamic approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Person-Centred Therapy, adapting her approach session to session based on what a client needs. In the room, that looks like curiosity about your story, attention to the emotions you may have learned to set aside, and space to work through what's been hard to name. She offers sessions in both English and Farsi. Parinaz does her best work with adults and couples navigating grief, immigration, family conflict, chronic illness and the disorientation that can come with major life transitions. She does not currently work with children or older adults. Clients describe Parinaz as attentive and grounding, someone who listens closely and helps untangle what's been sitting heavy, often surfacing options they hadn't considered on their own. Trained in EMDR (EMDR Europe Association and the EMDR Institute of Dr. Francine Shapiro), Emotionally Focused Therapy (Externship and Core Skills Advanced Training, ICEEFT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (University of Toronto), Systemic Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Child Psychoanalysis and Brain Story Certification.
