About Olivia
If you feel held back by anxiety, a harsh inner critic or perfectionism, and/or you're looking to explore new ways of relating to your thoughts and emotions, Olivia works with adults and teens in exactly this space. Her practice also draws on her earlier career as a professional musician, which gives her a specific perspective on performance-related concerns in the arts, sports or other high-pressure environments.
Olivia primarily uses a person-centred, integrated and flexible approach when working with clients. Depending on each client's needs and interests, she may integrate mindfulness-based or compassion-focused therapies, parts work, existential therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) or Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). When appropriate, she also brings a neuroscientific perspective to help clients understand what is happening in their mind, body and nervous system as a whole. In the room, that looks like a natural flow of dialogue with guidance and check-ins from her, and concrete tools offered as options when a client wants them.
Olivia does her best work with people looking to develop increased self-awareness, and with anyone embarking on major life transitions.
Olivia describes her stance as no pressure, no judgment. She recognises the importance of emotional safety and pacing, and offers concrete tools and strategies as options when a client is looking for them.
