About Michelle

I strive to create a warm, supportive, and non judgemental environment where clients feel safe to explore the issues causing distress in their lives. I believe in a person centred and empowering approach, supporting individuals, couples, and families in building insight, confidence, and practical tools to navigate challenges and create meaningful change. My work integrates a range of evidence informed therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR, and Solution Focused therapy. I focus on helping clients develop practical skills they can incorporate into daily life, while also creating space to process deeper emotional experiences. Areas I commonly support include intergenerational trauma, burnout, boundary setting, complex relationships, grief, anxiety, depression, and trauma related concerns. I am deeply passionate about supporting the mental wellness of Black women and BIPOC individuals. I am of Caribbean descent and bring lived experience as a Black woman in Canada into my work. I am a strong advocate for anti racism, and my counselling approach is grounded in an intersectional, culturally sensitive lens that honours identity, lived experience, and systemic influences on mental health. I work with children aged 12 and up, teens, adults, couples, and families, and support a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, addiction and alcohol use, behavioural concerns, family conflict, parenting challenges, relationship and marital issues, grief and loss, domestic violence, sexual abuse, self harming behaviours, suicidal ideation, teen violence, identity exploration, LGBTQ+ and transgender related concerns, intellectual disability, and life transitions. My goal is to bring warmth, curiosity, and compassion into every therapeutic relationship. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients as they work toward healing, resilience, and greater wellbeing.
