About Maureen
Maureen (she/her) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor at OK Clinical, bringing a wealth of experience and education to her role. She holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, alongside a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Minot State University. Maureen’s journey began on a ranch in North Dakota, where she supported struggling men and women dealing with substance use-related challenges. Returning to Saskatchewan, she served as an Addiction and Mental Health Counsellor within Saskatoon’s Health Region, working with both youth and adults across outpatient and inpatient settings.
With expertise honed as a Family Counsellor for the Okanagan’s complex-needs individuals, Maureen’s approach is trauma-informed and attachment-based, creating a secure foundation for her clients. She seamlessly blends empathy with evidence-based techniques, including cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and mindfulness practices. These methods are tailored to resonate with each individual, fostering a sense of being genuinely heard and understood.
As a dedicated Registered Clinical Counsellor, Maureen offers custom counselling services, ensuring therapy's accessibility. Maureen’s adept skills and heartfelt approach guide clients toward positive change and holistic well-being.
When not working at the clinic, Maureen enjoys reading, biking, crafting, outdoor activities with friends, and spending time with her two cats, Spock and Uhura.
