About Mark
Mark is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with over 20 years of experience working with children, youth, young adults, and parents with significant mental health concerns. Mark believes that supporting, caring, and trusting relationships significantly increase the prognosis of positive development and desired change. Accordingly, his first priority is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental, and accepting space for those he works with. Mark takes a holistic approach in supporting clients by bearing in mind mental, spiritual, behavioural, and environmental health factors. He facilitates the development of self-awareness and self-acceptance in balance with skill-building and change practices—an acceptance-change model he believes essential to healing and growth. Mark has invariably worked with clients from Indigenous and LGBTQIA+ communities; also with neurodiversity and intersectionality.
Mark has a wealth of experience working with people struggling with personality disorder, self-harm, suicidal behaviour, addiction, depression, and anxiety. He primarily uses Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Behavioural Therapy (BT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE). He will tailor the treatment approach based on client preferences.
Mark is happy to meet with clients in person or online. He has a flexible calendar for client convenience.
