About Kristen

Welcome! My name is Kristen Mitchell. I am a Registered Psychologist with a passion for helping people find their path to healing and wellness. As a holistic practitioner, I help clients look at the emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual sides of themselves and aim to provide a comforting environment to share their concerns. I love working with youth, emerging adults and their families to reconnect and develop strong and trusting relationships as well as develop lasting coping skills for adulthood. With a background in education, I also enjoy working with children of all ages and provide engaging and skill based sessions. I provide specialized counselling services to children over 7, adolescents, and individuals struggling with addictions, depression and anxiety. As every individual is unique, I work with client’s to find out what works best for you and blend therapeutic techniques. I often use evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solutions-Focused Approaches, Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness based practices. I also encourage clients to lean into their passions, create new coping skills, and lean into community connections. Coming to therapy can begin a journey of reflecting inwards and asking yourself what prevents you from living your best life. Becoming vulnerable and sharing your experiences can help you reconnect with others, find your authentic self, and facilitate the changes you seek. I look forward to working together to come up with the best counselling plan for you.
