About Jason

Jason Gaetz is a graduate student whose clinical interests centre on relationships, family systems, identity, and the questions people encounter when the life they are living no longer fits the life they want. Jason works with adolescents, adults, and couples. Jason's approach is grounded in the belief that people are shaped by their histories and relationships, but are not wholly determined by them. He draws from existential, narrative, and choice-oriented approaches to help clients examine the meanings they have attached to their experiences, recognize patterns in their relationships, and consider new ways of responding to the circumstances of their lives. Therapy with Jason is collaborative and conversational. He brings curiosity, directness, warmth, and a willingness to explore difficult questions. His goal is to help clients develop a clearer understanding of themselves and move toward choices that are consistent with the kind of life and relationships they want to create. Jason comes from a background in business and executive coaching, where he supports leaders in team management and workplace dynamics. He sees conflict resolution and communication repair as a natural and healthy feature of all cooperative ecosystems, including marriages and families. Jason draws from CBT, person-centered therapy, and reality therapy to support clients experiencing relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, and navigating questions of meaning and purpose. Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and is currently completing his Master of Counselling degree at Gonzaga University. Jason lives with his wife and children near Nelson, BC, and spends his free time skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and riding motocross. Jason is practicing as an intern under the supervision of Tami O’Meara, RCC #2518 Areas of Focus include: - Relationship and Communication Issues - Stress Management and Burnout - Building emotional awareness and resilience - Anxiety and coping strategies - Self-esteem and personal growth - Life transitions
