About Gordon

#About Gordon Gordon's path into social work comes from both his personal experiences and the people he's had the privilege of supporting. Born in Sudan, he spent part of his childhood navigating poverty, instability, and family separation before moving to Canada on an athletic scholarship. Those experiences taught him resilience, and showed him how hard it can be to ask for help when you're expected to appear strong. As a Black man and former varsity athlete, Gordon has seen firsthand how much stigma surrounds mental health, especially among men, athletes, and people from diverse cultural backgrounds, and that understanding continues to shape how he practices today. He's supported children, teens, university students, athletes, and adults through anxiety, depression, life transitions, and identity development, always working to create a space where people feel genuinely heard and accepted, without judgment. Gordon is especially passionate about supporting families through the emotional complexities of fertility, family building, pregnancy, and parenthood. He believes everyone deserves a safe place to process it all, without feeling alone. #Areas of focus - Men’s mental health - Male factor infertility - 2SLGBTQIA+ - Grief / miscarriage / stillbirth / birth trauma #Approach Gordon's approach is collaborative, compassionate, and shaped around the person in front of him. He believes you're the expert in your own life, and his role is to walk alongside you as you work through challenges and build on the strengths you already have. He draws from a range of evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT, ACT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and strengths-based, trauma-informed practices, adapting to whatever fits your needs and goals best. What makes his approach different is the blend of his own lived experience with his professional training. He works to build a relationship rooted in trust, curiosity, and genuine care, one where you can show up exactly as you are. #What to expect Gordon believes therapy should feel both supportive and empowering. He'll offer compassion and validation, and he'll gently challenge you too, when it helps you grow. Above all, he wants you to leave every session knowing you don't have to face things alone.
