About Susan
Dr. Susan DeWolfe, born and educated in central New Brunswick, developed an early and passionate interest in team sports and the performance health and recovery of athletes. She gained a Bachelor of Science Degree at Mount Allison University and subsequently moved to Toronto to complete a graduate degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). During this time she was appointed team chiropractor and trainer for several senior Ontario rugby clubs, which inspired her to return to the CMCC to pursue a Chiropractic Specialization in Sport Injuries, whereby she was awarded a Fellowship in the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences.
Now with over 30 years of clinical experience, she views continuing education as an integral part of her professional practice, with training in Acupuncture, Active Release Technique, Kinesiotape/Rocktape, Graston, McKenzie Protocols, Diversified Manual Adjustments, stretching and rehabilitation exercises.
Dr. DeWolfe aims to provide the best available, evidence-based therapies so that patients recover quickly and return to their athletic and life pursuits. All treatment plans are specifically designed for each patient so that it suits their needs, their lifestyle and their state of health. Attention and time is taken to explain the healing process, mechanisms of injury and the possible aggravating factors all in order to avoid or minimize its recurrence. Home stretching and strengthening programs are provided along with realistic advice on self-care and simple lifestyle modifications with the goal to minimize recovery time.
Outside of work, Sue is a lifelong competitive athlete and fitness enthusiast who practices a healthy active lifestyle combining weekly hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing as well as indoor free weight and Pilates training.
