About Anne
Dr. Anne Hussain, ND is a naturopathic doctor and author of "The Period Literacy Handbook". Driven by her own experience with PCOS and the lack of menstrual education she received growing up in Pakistan, she is dedicated to empowering patients to understand their bodies and optimize their health. She loves supporting patients with their overall health and wellbeing, marrying all aspects of a person's health (like symptoms, goals, lived experience, testing, etc.) to come up with a tailored care plan.
As a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, she supports patients through all phases of menstrual life and with changes associated with PCOS, PMS, endometriosis, fertility, hormone health, and perimenopause with a compassionate and collaborative approach. She obtained her Doctor of Naturopathy from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine after completing her B.Sc. in Biochemistry at McMaster University and is a member in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario.
She is also an acupuncture provider under her scope as an ND, offering facial rejuvenation acupuncture, and holds prescribing authority for hormone therapy (like estrogen and progesterone) and injections (like B12).
Dr. Anne loves giving back to the community–her advocacy work has included appearances on CTV News and CBC, and she is a big supporter of the Indigenous-led menstrual equity organization, Moon Time Connections. She teaches her fellow colleagues on topics pertaining to PCOS, hormone health, and plant-based nutrition at conferences on a regular basis. When not supporting patients, she enjoys exploring nature, eating plant-based food, playing saxophone with her community band, paddleboarding, and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
