About Donna

- Member of the Ontario College of Nurses (#90-34489) - Master of Nursing - Bachelor of Science in Nursing - Certified Solution Focused Therapist (#1188-23) - Intensive Sex Therapy Training Program completed from the University of Guelph - Menopause Mental Health Provider Certification through BRIA ------------- “Sex used to be great, but it isn’t any more if it happens at all!”; “I want to want it.”; “My erections are not as consistent.”; “We are more like roommates than partners.”; “I spend so much time in my head.”; “Why are the mid 40’s so tough!”. If this sounds familiar there is hope! Things can change. Anxiety and depression can be manageable. Sexual health is an important part of living, even when you are recovering or living with illness, disability, coping with a medical condition, or experiencing life transitions, like becoming a parent or menopause. Stress, anxiety and age often affect your sleep and in turn your mental health and energy. Together, we will find the solution that is right for you. It is possible! I approach my practice from a solution focused, client centred and trauma informed perspective in a warm and respectful manner. At Tri Health clinic we use evidence informed sex therapy practices, as well as mindfulness and education to reach you sexual health goals. As a therapist I teach mood management strategies as well as body nervous system regulation to feel grounded and comfortable with yourself. I highly value people’s insight and life experience and work with you to build on your strengths and resources to make positive change towards the wellness you hope for. I am a registered nurse and have 35 years of therapeutic intervention with diverse client populations across a broad spectrum of health care settings. My experience includes working in public health, home care, acute mental health, and nursing education. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from the University of Toronto and have a master’s in nursing from Athabasca University. I enjoy working with individuals and couples, to identify, explore and discuss their unique needs and support them in reaching their general mental health, relationship and sexual health goals. When I am not working, I enjoy being outside with our labradoodle and family on our lake property, walking, swimming, boating, reading, quilting, cooking, and gardening. I look forward to meeting and working with you.
