About Chelsea
"Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle."
-Lewis Carroll from Alice in Wonderland.
If you have found yourself feeling like you have fallen down the rabbit hole—overwhelmed, untethered or maybe unsure which way is forward—you are not alone in this feeling. When things feel upside down and strange, it can be hard to know where to turn. When you need a safe place to catch your breath, therapy can be a place to come to try to make sense of it all.
I'm Chelsea, a registered qualifying psychotherapist and registered nurse who works with adults navigating trauma, as well as those living with a mental illness. I became a registered nurse in 2016 and my career has been solely dedicated to providing mental health treatment in a variety of settings, including addictions, acute psychiatry and outpatient treatment settings. For the past three years, I've worked as a nurse therapist providing psychotherapy to support my clients through some of the most difficult and vulnerable times of their lives.
My passion for psychotherapy led me to pursue my designation as a psychotherapist to compliment my nursing work in the hopes of providing a space for deep, reflective and lasting growth. It is important to me that clients receive treatment that is client-centered and tailored to their unique needs, therefore I like to weave interventions from a range of modalities including Emotion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Internal Family Systems. The heart of therapy is built on the relationship, therefore I like to emphasize the importance of self-agency and autonomy; I like to work collaboratively with my clients to ensure your voice is heard and choices guide the process. My goal is to work with you and alongside you.
If you are feeling a little lost in your own story, lets piece the story together, one page at a time. Feel free to meet for a free consultation to see if we are a good fit.
