About Chantel

Chantel O'Brien received her Masters of Clinical Science in Speech Language Pathology from The University of Western Ontario. She has dedicated her practice to specializing in family care and has been working with children for over 15 years. Chantel's expertise includes clinical experience with children of all ages in daycares, elementary schools and in-centre services providing assessment, treatment, consultation and training to families, professionals and support staff. She has a passion for providing speech and language treatment to children and support to their families. She is committed to implementing, facilitating, and supporting a collaborative approach that includes parents, faculty members, staff educators, and allied health professionals in every aspect of a child’s treatment program. Chantel has worked in a variety of programs through Children’s Treatment Centres such as the Preschool Speech and Language Program, Assistive Devices Resource Services, Autism Program and most recently the Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Diagnostic Hub where she is currently assisting Developmental Paediatricians with diagnosing ASD in young children. Chantel has evaluated and treated individuals with Motor Speech, Articulation and Phonological Disorders, Receptive and Expressive Language Delays and Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Pragmatic Language Disorders, Hearing Impairments and Feeding difficulties. She holds additional certifications in her field and completed the post graduate Communicative Disorders Assistant program at Georgian College. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two beautiful girls going to the beach, camping and hiking.
