Sometimes, we just want a place where we can tell our story and feel seen, heard, and understood. Regardless of your reason for seeking counselling, I welcome you here. I offer therapy that is both person-centered and emotion-focused. I use various therapeutic modalities, such as AEDP, DBT, and IFS, and focus on integrating an attachment lens and parts work throughout my sessions. I care about providing an inclusive, safe, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable sharing your journey with me. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and it would be my deepest privilege to walk alongside you while we work together to overcome obstacles and navigate where you would like to go next. Experience: Carissa is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a Trinity Western University graduate with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. Over the past three years, she has worked at various community agencies assessing and supporting clients with depression, anxiety, trauma experiences, chronic pain, identity, academic concerns, and relationship concerns. More personally, I care about engaging in self-reflection and am passionate about cultivating deep and intimate relationships. My drive and motivation comes from my family and friends, I enjoy rock climbing, playing board games, and reading fiction novels, and am happiest when I'm sharing a meal with a loved one. Carissa is providing in-person sessions to clients.
