About Brooke

Brooke brings over 11 years of experience as a teacher and school principal, along with a diverse background supporting children, youth, and families. Prior to becoming an educator, she worked for four years at an Autism Resource Centre and gained experience in child and youth settings. Throughout her career in education, Brooke has worked in a variety of settings, including community schools, public schools, First Nations schools, and a Hutterite colony school. Brooke holds a Bachelor of Education, a master’s degree in educational psychology, and a master’s degree in teaching, Learning, and Literacy. She is currently completing her master’s degree in counselling psychology as she works toward her goal of becoming a registered psychologist. In her counselling work, Brooke draws from evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT). She strives to create a supportive, collaborative, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences, recognizing their strengths, and working toward meaningful change. At the heart of Brooke’s approach is the belief that people are doing the best they can with the experiences, skills, resources, and support available to them. She believes therapy is not about “fixing” people but rather working alongside them to recognize what is already working, build upon their existing strengths, and develop additional tools and skills when needed.
