Brittni (she/her) is a Master of Social Work student at the University of British Columbia Okanagan, currently completing her practicum at OK Clinical. Having grown up in this community, she feels deeply connected to the people she serves and is passionate about providing accessible, affordable counselling in the place she calls home. With a foundation in psychology, Brittni understands how our thoughts, feelings, and life experiences intertwine to influence how we see ourselves and relate to others.
In her current occupations she supports youth and adults navigating mental health and substance use concerns, and has experience working alongside individuals in the unhoused community through transitional housing and Housing First programs. Her work is grounded in respect, dignity, and an awareness of the broader systems that impact people’s lives.
Brittni’s approach is collaborative, compassionate, and non-pathologizing. She works from a client-centered foundation and integrates elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), strengths-based, solution-focused, and psychodynamic approaches. She tailors each session to the individual’s or families unique goals, values, and strengths, and strives to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to move toward meaningful change.
Brittni is available to serve individuals, youth, couples, and families, and works primarily out of the Glenmore and West Kelowna locations.
