About Amrit
Amrit is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and holds a Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Amrit believes in providing a non-judgmental atmosphere, honours all aspects of confidentiality and is committed to client safety, ensuring a supportive space for clients of all age groups, encompassing both females and males of all ages. Amrit enjoys working with children and connects well with young clients aged 5+, as well as adults, families and couples.
Amrit offers an integrative approach to counselling whereby he assists in addressing maladaptive thought patterns, facilitating transformative shifts in emotions and behaviours, cultivating confidence and adopting fresh perspectives that can lead to the discovery of the client’s innate strengths.
Recognizing the uniqueness of each person, Amrit acknowledges the absence of one-size-fits-all solutions for life changes. Instead, the focus lies in tailoring therapeutic methodologies to align with the individual needs of each client. Amrit's expertise encompasses a range of modalities and specialized areas, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Strength-based approaches, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
