Alyssa moved to Vancouver in 2022 to explore the beautiful west coast and start her dream career as a Paediatric Physiotherapist. She was first introduced to physiotherapy in treatment for sport-related injuries and inspired by the impact the physiotherapists had on young athletes. In high school, she taught dance classes for toddlers and children of all ages where she developed an appreciation for movement literacy, inclusion in sport, and physical activity for health promotion in children. Alyssa attended the University of Western Ontario for both her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Masters of Physical Therapy. She completed clinical placements in outpatient orthopaedics, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, and paediatrics.
Alyssa has a passion for educating kids and families about motor development, physical activity, and injury prevention. Her specialized areas of practice are in sports and acute injury rehabilitation, injury prevention, infant motor development, and infant related concerns such as torticollis and plagiocephaly. In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys staying active by attending workout classes, skiing, hiking, biking, and traveling. She also enjoys spending quality time with her friends, family, and mini goldendoodle, Sadie.
