About Allison
If you’re feeling ready to finally address past trauma, release emotional weight, and move forward with more ease, you’re not alone. Many people reach therapy not because they’re broken, but because they’re tired of carrying experiences that still feel heavy in their body and relationships.
Allison Zhou is a Registered Psychotherapist who offers trauma-informed therapy for individuals and couples, supporting clients who want to feel lighter, more regulated, and more like themselves again.
Allison works from a psychodynamic and holistic approach, with specialized training in EMDR and complex trauma. Her work focuses on helping clients safely reprocess past experiences that continue to affect their emotions, beliefs, and nervous-system responses, so they no longer dominate the present or limit the future.
She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, earning a Specialist in Psychology, and holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University. Allison is trained in EMDR from the EMDR Institute and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy from ICEEFT. She provides trauma-informed care and integrates these approaches to help clients develop greater emotional regulation, self-trust, and healthier relational patterns.
Allison believes therapy should feel supportive, collaborative, and paced to your nervous system, not rushed or overwhelming. She offers a compassionate space where clients can gain insight, soften limiting beliefs, and create lasting change that feels embodied rather than forced. She has experience working with trauma, anxiety, attachment-related concerns, and relationship challenges.
Allison welcomes new clients to book a free consultation to explore whether working together feels like a good fit!
