About Alexandra

Alexandra is a BCACC registered clinical counsellor with 15 years of experience in therapeutic environments. She holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University in Vancouver and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Concordia University in Montreal. Recognizing that each person's journey through life is unique, Alexandra believes that authentic connection, empathy, and unconditional acceptance create the safety and space necessary to uncover and explore inner resources. This supportive environment helps individuals navigate challenges and achieve their goals. Her counselling approach is primarily person-centred and trauma-informed, integrating training in focusing-oriented psychotherapy and emotion-focused individual therapy. She also incorporates interventions and resources from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment theory, internal family systems, mindfulness, and narrative therapy to facilitate the therapeutic process. This collaborative approach aims to strengthen each individual’s voice, agency, and sense of empowerment. Alexandra’s counselling experience encompasses a wide range of issues, including trauma, abuse, attachment wounds, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, burnout, traumatic brain injury (TBI), chronic pain, neurodiversity, and substance use challenges. She works with children, youth, and adults and is an approved counsellor with the First Nations Health Authority and the Crime Victim Assistance Program. Her lived experiences as a single mother raising two daughters have equipped her with valuable insights into navigating systemic and relational challenges, financial barriers, and resource accessibility. Alexandra understands the importance of self-compassion, empowerment, relational support, and the strength that arises from vulnerability. Endurance sports play a significant role in her life; she has completed five marathons, a triathlon, and several long-distance swims. Currently, she maintains a strong yoga practice and enjoys nature walks, trail riding, paddleboarding, and cold plunges.
