About Kristen

Kristen is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who provides individual and couples psychotherapy. She works with teens and adults navigating anxiety, relationship difficulties, attachment wounds, trauma, rejection sensitivity, stress, grief, shame, loneliness, self-esteem concerns, and significant life transitions. She has a particular interest in supporting individuals who feel deeply, tend to overthink their experiences, or find themselves repeating emotional and relational patterns that can be difficult to understand or change. Kristen recognizes that emotional pain does not always come from experiences that are easily named or recognized by others. She supports clients through more traditional experiences of grief and loss, as well as less recognized forms of grief—such as the loss of an imagined future, relationship, opportunity, identity, sense of belonging, or hope for how life was expected to unfold. Her work helps clients make sense of these experiences while developing greater compassion and understanding toward themselves. Kristen takes a warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed approach to therapy, creating a space where clients can feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported without judgment. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, she works alongside clients to explore the emotional, relational, and attachment patterns that may be contributing to their current struggles. Her therapeutic approach is integrative and draws from attachment-based, relational, psychodynamic, emotion-focused, somatic, compassion-focused, and trauma-focused perspectives. Depending on each client’s needs, therapy may involve exploring past experiences and relationships, identifying recurring patterns, strengthening emotional awareness, developing healthier coping strategies, and creating new ways of relating to oneself and others. Kristen believes therapy can provide an opportunity to better understand not only what you are experiencing, but where those experiences may come from. She works collaboratively with clients to foster greater self-awareness, emotional connection, and meaningful change while helping them move through life with greater clarity and confidence. Above all, Kristen strives to create a therapeutic relationship grounded in curiosity, compassion, authenticity, and respect. She understands that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable and aims to provide a space where clients do not have to navigate difficult experiences alone. Kristen holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).
