About Kevin

#ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS Kevin holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in East Asian Studies and a minor in Psychology from the University of Calgary. He also completed a Master of Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University, further strengthening his clinical foundation and therapeutic approach. He has pursued additional specialized training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), including work with ADHD, Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and the Mental Health + Diabetes Training Program with JDRF. These areas of study reflect his commitment to integrating evidence-based practices into his work with individuals and couples. With over 14 years of experience in the mental health field, Kevin has worked across a range of settings and levels of care. His background includes supporting individuals experiencing acute high-risk suicidality with the Distress Centre, facilitating intensive group care programs for individuals with dual diagnoses, and providing formal counselling services in nonprofit organizations and private practice settings across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. Kevin has a particular passion for exploring racial and cultural identity, men’s issues, and relationship dynamics. He also brings a strong interest in chronic health concerns—especially diabetes—and the intersection of technology within mental health and everyday life, recognizing how these factors shape individual experiences. His therapeutic approach focuses on exploring deep and recurring patterns while developing insight into both the benefits and limitations of current ways of being. Kevin works collaboratively with clients to better understand their stories, fostering curiosity, flexibility, and compassion throughout the process. He strives to create a safe, stable environment where clients feel supported in embracing vulnerability and meaningful change.
