Kari Campbell is a Registered Provisional Psychologist, Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), and an active professional member in good standing with both the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, Fredericton, New
Brunswick, and two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Religious Studies and English Language & Literature from the University of Calgary.
Kari’s professional expertise is supported by specialized certifications in Mindfulness-Informed Practice, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of
personality disorders. She has cultivated extensive experience across community mental health and private practice, specializing in working with
adult populations.
Kari strongly believes in the power of human connection and prioritizes building a therapeutic relationship that is safe, respectful, and transformative. She approaches her work not as an expert on a client’s
journey, but as a fellow traveller with the privilege of walking alongside clients as they heal. Kari’s approach is client-centered and collaborative: she seeks to understand challenges with empathy, develop personalized treatment plans that are meaningful to each individual, and provide compassionate support as clients move toward their goals.
In her practice, Kari emphasizes trust, honesty, kindness, and compassion as foundational elements of a successful therapeutic relationship. She aims
to foster self-awareness, self-reflection, and self-acceptance, while helping clients build capacity for resilience and personal growth. Kari is dedicated to providing dynamic, holistic, and evidence-informed
counselling services to adults of all genders, identities, and cultural or spiritual backgrounds. She supports clients navigating a broad range of

Kari draws from an array of therapeutic approaches tailored to each client’s needs, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Polyvagal Theory for anxiety, depression, and trauma, EMDR, as well as narrative, mindfulness, and strength-based interventions. She is committed to providing ethical, evidence-based treatment and ensures her practice remains within her professional scope.
Provisional Psychologist Billing and Insurance Reimbursement
Please note that provisional psychologists are not eligible to provide direct billing through TELUS eClaims insurance providers. Clients receiving services from a provisional psychologist will be responsible for payment at the time of service.
Following payment, clients are encouraged to submit their invoice and receipt directly to their insurance provider for reimbursement, in accordance with their individual extended health benefits plan. Coverage and reimbursement amounts are determined solely by the client’s insurance provider, and Nova Psychology cannot guarantee eligibility or reimbursement.
