Living with addiction, or loving someone who is struggling with addiction, can feel exhausting, isolating, and overwhelming. Finding the right supports such as detox, residential treatment, aftercare, and ongoing counselling can be just as challenging. Addiction counselling can be an important and supportive part of the recovery journey, whether you are seeking help for yourself or trying to support someone you care about.
I work with individuals experiencing all types of addiction, including substance use, alcohol use, prescription medication dependence, and behavioural addictions. I also support families and loved ones who are impacted by addiction and are looking for guidance, tools, and understanding as they navigate complex emotions, boundaries, and decision making. Addiction does not affect only one person. It impacts relationships, families, and entire support systems.
I am passionate about reducing stigma and helping people understand that addiction is a chronic and treatable illness, not a moral failure. Relapse can be part of the recovery process, and my role is to provide education, support, and practical strategies that promote safety, insight, and long term wellbeing. I work collaboratively to help identify appropriate pathways to care, including prevention planning, relapse support, and connection to community resources when needed.
My approach is compassionate, non judgmental, and grounded in respect. I believe every recovery journey is unique, and counselling should be tailored to meet you where you are. Together, we focus on building coping skills, strengthening motivation, improving communication, and supporting healthier patterns for both individuals and families.
