Registered Clinical Counsellor #21725
Canadian Certified Counsellor #11248765
Hello! I'm Ameera Ali, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and am registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I believe that therapy should feel like a space where you can be genuinely yourself without judgment, pressure, or the expectation that you have everything figured out.
I’m passionate about helping people better understand themselves, navigate challenges, and create meaningful change in their lives. My approach is collaborative, warm, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. Together, we can explore what is getting in the way, build on your existing strengths, and find strategies that actually fit who you are.
Therapy for Life Transitions and Emerging Adulthood
Life is full of transitions. Whether you are graduating, starting a new career, navigating a relationship change, becoming more independent, or simply feeling unsure of what comes next, these changes can bring a mix of excitement, uncertainty, and overwhelm.
I have a particular interest in supporting teens and young adults through these important chapters. We will create space to explore where you are, where you want to go, and what you need to feel more grounded and confident along the way.
Executive Functioning & ADHD
Sometimes the hardest part isn't knowing what to do, it's getting started. Executive functioning challenges can show up as procrastination, difficulty staying organized, time blindness, feeling overwhelmed by simple tasks, or constantly feeling like you're falling behind despite trying your best.
Rather than focusing on productivity alone, we'll explore how your brain works and develop strategies that feel realistic, compassionate, and sustainable. I believe success isn't about doing more, but about finding systems that allow you to thrive as yourself.
Anxiety, Self-Esteem & Self-Discovery
If your mind rarely slows down, you are constantly overthinking, or you feel like you are carrying the weight of everyone else's expectations, you are not alone. Anxiety and perfectionism can make it difficult to slow down, trust yourself, or feel like you are doing enough. At the same time, figuring out who you are and what you truly want can feel overwhelming, especially during periods of change and transition.
Together, we will gently explore the thoughts, patterns, and expectations that may be contributing to how you are feeling, while creating space for self-compassion and practical coping tools. We will work toward building a stronger sense of self, developing greater confidence in your own voice, and learning to approach yourself with curiosity rather than criticism.
A Little About Me
Outside of counselling, I am someone who values spending time with the people I love. I also enjoy travelling, exploring new places, trying new restaurants and cafés, and being creative. I have always been drawn to activities and experiences that allow me to learn something new, which probably explains why I can go from planning a trip to researching a completely random topic within the same afternoon!
And while I take my work very seriously, I do not believe life should be all work. I think some of the most meaningful parts of life happen in ordinary moments like laughing with friends, trying something new, getting lost in a good book or show, or simply having a really good conversation.
I offer accessible counselling for any client, during slower moments in the week.
