“The Runner's Academy was very helpful for me while preparing for my half marathon. I was dealing with some unresolved pain in my feet and Robert gave me exercises that helped strengthen my feet and ankles and correct my running gate! With his training advice and exercises, I was able to run my race pain free! I highly recommend Robert and the rest of the team!”Read moreShow less

“I can’t recommend Dr. Chantelle at The Runners Academy enough. She is by far one of the best chiropractor I’ve found. Last year, I had persistent pain in my right lower abdomen and spent weeks in physiotherapy trying to fix it. I was told my glutes were weak, was in PT on a 8-week program focused on strengthening them but the pain never improved. Feeling frustrated, I decided to see Dr. Chantelle even though it’s a 1 hour drive away. She did a thorough assessment and quickly identified that the issue was actually tight adductors. She prescribed targeted stretches and exercises, and after just two visits, my pain was completely gone. This year, I experienced similar symptoms on the left side of my lower abdomen. I went back to see her, and within a week the pain was gone. This time, I’ll be sticking with the exercises she prescribed to make sure the issue doesn’t come back. Dr. Chantelle is incredibly knowledgeable. If you’re a runner dealing with pain or injury she is the person to see. I’m very grateful to be running pain free again.”Read moreShow less

“Robert has absolutely changed my running experience. After each session, I feel noticeably better, and my confidence in managing my injury has improved so much since working with him. What really stands out is that the care goes beyond the session itself. The movements and “homework” he prescribes; along with videos, voiceovers, and clear examples, make it easy to stay consistent and continue progressing at home. He provides exceptional treatment, pays close attention to detail, and genuinely cares about his clients’ outcomes. His approach has been invaluable to my training and recovery. I would highly recommend going to Runners Academy and working with Robert.”Read moreShow less

“Long overdue review for Dr. Chantelle. My background is in weightlifting and competitive bodybuilding, and I had this weird knee issue for about a year and a half. I couldn’t fully pinpoint it, but I knew something was off. I saw multiple physios and chiros across the GTA (non-running clinics), and I kept hearing the same thing — “weak glutes.” That didn’t really make sense to me, considering I was squatting 315 lbs and hip thrusting 405 lbs. Still, I stayed open-minded. I did years of glute work, banded exercises, acupuncture — everything. At one point, I was doing so many rehab exercises that I honestly got tired of it, and the issue was still there. So I decided to switch providers — not because the others were bad, but because I needed a different lens. I ended up going to a running clinic, not even for running, just to see if they could figure things out. That’s when I met Dr. Chantelle. She did a full gait analysis and actually addressed the root cause. Within 3 sessions, I was already noticing a difference. I’m still working on improving, but now I know I’m on the right path. The funny part? Running used to be the hardest thing for me — now it feels like the safest. She assesses everything from toe to knee to hips, and you can tell she really understands movement. I’m genuinely grateful to have found someone who knows what they’re doing and actually wants to see you move better. Thank you for everything.”Read moreShow less

“If you are a dedicated runner this is the best clinic in the city for you. I dealt with a stress fracture last year after my marathon and utilized both their physiotherapy (Steph) and strength coaching (Jake) to rehab and strengthen my legs in a sustainable way, so I was able to run a strong half marathon problem and worry free. The staff are all passionate runners so it's relieving to deal with people who share a love for my sport and want to get you back racing. Highly recommended and while in person visits are the best way to utilize their services, they have virtual options too.”Read moreShow less

“TL;DR: Dr. Robert Lawand (Rob) is truly exceptional. He combines outstanding clinical expertise and practical knowledge with genuine compassion and care, always going above and beyond to support his patients. He doesn’t just treat injuries, instead, he takes the time to identify the root cause and guides you every step of the way toward recovery. Thanks to Rob’s unwavering support, I was able to recover from multiple running injuries and successfully complete my first marathon. I am incredibly grateful for everything he’s done and cannot recommend him highly enough. Full Review: I first started seeing Dr. Robert Lawand (Rob) in September 2024 while training for my first marathon, when I unfortunately experienced a stress fracture. Before I even set foot in the clinic, Rob took the time to hop on a call with me to understand what had happened, how the injury occurred and what the best course of action might be. From the very beginning, it was clear how thoughtful and invested he was in my recovery. Once I began regular appointments, Rob was meticulous in performing assessments, asking the right questions and carefully identifying the root cause of my injury. He always took the time needed to perform treatments that supported recovery, while being extremely mindful not to do anything that could risk further harm. Beyond in-clinic care, Rob consistently brainstormed take-home exercises to support my recovery between visits, providing clear, step-by-step instructions so I felt confident doing them on my own. Between appointments, Rob regularly checked in to see how I was progressing and continued to think creatively about new exercises, treatment options and safe return-to-run plans. His goal was always to help me get back to doing what I love, which is running, without compromising my long-term health. Not only does Rob bring an exceptional level of expertise and knowledge in injury treatment and prevention, but he also offers genuine emotional support. As a runner himself, he understands how challenging it can be to step away from training due to injury, which makes him an incredibly empathetic and effective support system during recovery. This past year, I once again attempted marathon training and unfortunately sustained another injury in late summer. Through a holistic approach combining treatment, targeted exercises and an adapted training program, I was able to recover in time, rebuild my confidence and successfully complete the marathon. I can honestly say that without Rob’s guidance, encouragement and unwavering support, I would not have made it to either the start or the finish line. Finding Rob has completely changed my experience with running. He doesn’t just treat symptoms, but uses his extensive education, hands-on expertise and personal experience to identify root causes and provide clear diagnoses. This creates clarity and confidence when developing and following a recovery plan with the highest chance of success. Combined with his deep care and passion for what he does, Rob is truly unmatched in helping patients reach their recovery and fitness goals. Thank you so much Rob for everything that you do!!!”Read moreShow less

“I can honestly say I don’t think I would have completed my last few races without The Runner’s Academy. I’ve been seeing Melika for massage therapy, and he has consistently helped get my muscles race-ready while treating soreness and injuries. I always leave his sessions feeling amazing! I’ve also been working with Chantelle while dealing with injuries. She helped me correct my running form and helped me deal with some very angry hips during my past training block. Thanks to her, I’ve been able to reach start lines healthy and feeling strong. I would 100% recommend The Runner’s Academy for injury treatment, performance support, and truly understanding what your body needs.”Read moreShow less
