“My experience at Maritime Chiropractic & Wellness has changed my life in a way I never could have imagined. About four years ago, I went to a chiropractor for the first time simply to see if I could improve my overall fitness. I had no history of neck problems or any physical issues at all. I was healthy, active, running regularly, and doing yoga. After my initial visit, one of the first things I received was a high-velocity neck adjustment. Within days, I was in A&E on morphine and other strong medication. Pain in my neck was unbearable and I couldn’t even lift my head. Four years later, I am still living with constant pain in my neck. And when I say constant, I mean every hour of every day. It affects my ability to live normally. I’m writing this at 4 a.m., awake because of the pain, exhausted and overwhelmed. I never imagined that one appointment could have such a lasting impact on my life. Please, if you are considering treatment, take the time to ask questions and fully understand the risks. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.”

“I have been going to this clinic for over a decade and trust all of the practitioners. I see Dr. Aucoin for chiro and she has also treated my children as infants and continues to, as needed. I have seen both Monica and Fiona for physio and have had an excellent experience and support for a variety of issues/injuries. Claire and Trudy at the front desk are kind and responsive and have also provided great support. I frequently use the laser therapy available at this clinic and credit it for helping to manage pain and inflammation for a variety of issues. I always recommend this clinic to anyone seeking care - the staff is exceptional, both as expert practitioners and kind human beings with a team approach to care.”

“I've been extremely happy with the care I've received at this clinic. The staff genuinely care about your well being and go above and beyond what is required. I've dealt with many injuries over the years and have been to a variety of physiotherapists/chiropractors. I've often felt like I'm on a conveyor belt cycling through as quickly as possible so multiple clients can be seen at one time. Not here. You get one on one time that is not rushed. I have found the gem of treatment for me and will not go anywhere else. I have mainly seen Monica MacDonald, physio and Monique Aucoin, chiro. I have seen other staff members as well. Highly recommend. Staff at reception are fantastic.”

I went in for treatment related to upper back, and he quickly identified the underlying issues and explained everything in a clear and approachable way. His adjustments were precise and effective, and I noticed improvement in posture and tension after just a couple of sessions. Plus Dr. Power is super friendly and a great person in general as well.. “I’m not usually someone who leaves reviews, but when I do, I try to include every tiny detail that could help someone else , especially for something as important as health care. I was searching for chiropractic and laser therapy options and came across Maritime Chiropractic & Wellness in downtown Halifax. Initially, I was hesitant because I had planned to visit a clinic in Bedford based on a recommendation. But I’m so glad I followed my instincts and chose this place instead. I booked an appointment with Dr. Monique, and from the very first session, I knew I was in excellent hands. Although my initial visit was meant for assessment only, Monique began adjustments after a thorough evaluation because she understood I was on a tight timeline as I’m moving to Europe soon. She went above and beyond to accommodate me in the short time I had. Monique is incredibly kind, professional, and highly competent, honestly one of the best chiropractors I’ve ever encountered. She diagnosed my issue (a low back spasm caused by immobile SI joints) within minutes and explained everything clearly. She also recommended laser therapy, which was genuinely effective. I started feeling noticeably better just after two sessions. I also want to mention Trudy and Clare from the front desk , both are so warm, welcoming, and supportive. Walking into the clinic instantly makes you feel at ease, thanks to their cheerful smiles and the calm ambiance. The treatment rooms are clean and relaxing, with soft background music and a subtle, pleasant fragrance. What sets this place apart is not just the professionalism but the personalized care. Monique listens, understands, and offers real solutions tailored to your needs and schedule. I only wish I had found them sooner. Even though I’m moving overseas, I already know I’ll return to this clinic when I’m back in Canada, even if it’s two years from now. Highly recommended.”
