“After struggling with a lumbar disc injury for more than a year, I can honestly say that my experience with Blaine was unlike anything I had encountered before. I am 24 years old and from Ukraine. My injury began with a deadlift accident, and an MRI later confirmed an L4-L5 disc extrusion. Over the following year I consulted numerous clinicians, physiotherapists, and rehabilitation specialists. I spent a significant amount of time and money following different treatment approaches, often receiving completely different explanations and recommendations. Despite doing everything I was told and being highly compliant with rehabilitation programs, my symptoms repeatedly returned and in some cases became worse. What frustrated me most was not the lack of improvement, but the lack of clear reasoning. I was often asked to simply trust the process without understanding why a particular treatment or exercise was being prescribed. That was the biggest difference when I worked with Blaine. Before our consultation, I sent him a large amount of information: MRI scans and reports, a detailed history of the injury, descriptions of my symptoms, videos of everyday movements, and recordings of previous rehabilitation exercises. What immediately impressed me was the amount of effort he invested before the consultation even began. The appointment was scheduled for one hour, but Blaine spent considerably more time reviewing the information I had provided. When we met, it was obvious he had thoroughly analyzed my case rather than relying on generic assumptions. For the first time, I was presented with a coherent and logical explanation that connected my symptoms, movement limitations, injury history, and rehabilitation plan into a single model. Blaine didn't just tell me what exercises to do. He explained why each exercise was included, what specific purpose it served, what changes we expected to see, and how to evaluate whether it was helping. I also greatly appreciated his willingness to answer questions. Rather than dismissing difficult or technical inquiries, he welcomed them and explained his reasoning in detail. He even shared his personal email address and encouraged me to keep him updated on my progress so adjustments could be made if necessary. That was a stark contrast to the one-size-fits-all approach I had been dealing with before. To me, that speaks volumes about his commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients. While rehabilitation is still an ongoing process, my experience with Blaine has been one of the most thorough and intellectually honest clinical consultations I have had. If you are dealing with a complex or persistent problem and want someone who takes the time to understand your case deeply, I would highly recommend working with him.”Read moreShow less

“Mat Palmer is an outstanding physiotherapist with extensive experience in treating muscle injuries and supporting recovery through step-by-step rehabilitation and gym training programs. He takes the time to assess your condition carefully, explains the recovery process clearly, and creates a personalized treatment plan to help rebuild strength and mobility safely. His professional approach, knowledge, and genuine care made a huge difference in my recovery. I highly recommend Mat to anyone needing physiotherapy and injury rehabilitation support. Robert Cutting is a highly experienced and professional chiropractor who provides excellent care and support throughout treatment. He is very friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled in manual adjustments and muscle injury management. He explains each step of the treatment process clearly and helps create a structured recovery and training plan to improve movement, strength, and overall health. Both specialists are amazing at what they do, and I would confidently recommend them to others. Thank you”Read moreShow less

“I have spent the last 10 years of my life, chasing something/someone that could help figure out my lower back pain. Physio, Chiro, dry needle, massage, doctors, x-rays, MRI, prescriptions, have all given me similar temporary results, but Blaine Mackie was the one to finally discover a long term and pain free solution. Blaine was able to look through a physiological 'lens' that the others were not, and took the time to develop a mobility and strengthening plan to get me back on track, to a pain free life. I cannot recommend him enough!!”Read moreShow less

“Tyler!!!! I spent ten years trying to manage migraines with various physios. Tyler took the time to listen and assess my condition rather than just treating the symptoms. His deep understanding of the body and his ability to provide effective, targeted exercises made the difference. I haven't needed to return for treatment because his recommended exercises worked. I can't thank him enough for giving me my quality of life back. Highly recommend!”Read moreShow less

“Hello, my name is Mary! In July of 2023 I had an accident at work that led me to Mackie Physiotherapy. Over next 2 years I had a discectomy and fusion surgery, many hardships in dealing with the wcb and on-going injections moving forward. Full disclosure, I could not have done it without my physiotherapist, Mat Palmer and the wonderful staff at Mackie Physiotherapy. It is such a great atmosphere to walk into, the resources and work out equipment are top notch and everybody’s professional yet personal demeanours were just so refreshing especially given what I was going through. Mat had even collaborated with Blaine Mackie and they had figured out a root cause of some of the pain that was not acknowledged by imagery and other practitioners. On a more personal note, Mat was absolutely a solid rock of hope, help and relief for over two years and I am so grateful to have had him as my physio. About two months ago I have had to make changes to be out in Cold Lake, Alberta for family reasons and have had to also move my primary care, such as physio, to Cold Lake. I just cannot express how crazy the difference in the treatments received are. It just enforces to me the quality of care that you get at Mackie Physiotherapy. The treatments, note taking, problem solving and sincere friendly ness is bar none that I have encountered otherwise. When I return to Sask I will be returning to Mackie. I miss you Mat!!!!!!”Read moreShow less

“I was a loyal client of Mackie Physiotherapy from before 2010 until 2022. After a life-altering car accident, my insurance provider forced me to seek treatment at a competitor. It was then I realized how exceptional Mackie Physiotherapy truly is. At the competitor, I felt like just a number and was given a generic, "boiler plate" exercise routine. Recently, my employer informed me that I was considered "too old" to continue as a physical instructor, despite being in better shape than 95% of my colleagues. I was told I’d need to reapply for my position and compete with candidates half my age. Instead of feeling discouraged, I embraced the challenge. I returned to Mackie Physiotherapy after a three-year absence and was warmly greeted by name. The staff asked about my preferred therapists, offered flexible appointment dates, and even provided the option to join a cancellation list. I scheduled an appointment eight days later. Upon arrival, my therapist expressed genuine enthusiasm for my visit. In the therapy room, I explained my urgent needs and tight timeline. After a few clarifying questions, I received a highly specific, sport-focused treatment and training plan tailored to my goals, with an implied guarantee that I’d be ready by my deployment date if I followed it. I was also invited to semi-private group training to ensure my success. The customer service and no-nonsense care at Mackie Physiotherapy remain unmatched, even after my three-year absence. They don’t rest on their stellar reputation—they consistently deliver the best care available. I still recall my first visit years ago when they said, “We’re here to help you improve, waste anyone’s time. If you’re not here for progress, please go elsewhere.” Mackie Physiotherapy lives up to that promise.”Read moreShow less

“I can’t say enough about how amazing my experience has been here. I’ve been working with the physiotherapy team for over 1.5 years as part of my journey with CRPS, and from day one they have been nothing but gentle, patient, and understanding of my condition. They truly take the time to listen and adjust treatments to what my body can handle, which has made a huge difference in my recovery process. Over my time here, I’ve had the opportunity to work with most of the staff, and every single one of them has been kind, professional, and supportive. It’s clear they genuinely care about their patients. The gym itself is also a huge bonus—it’s bright, spacious, and well-equipped, which makes every visit more comfortable and motivating. Honestly, I wouldn’t change my primary care physiotherapy team for anything—not even if I was paid to. That’s how much trust and confidence I have in them. I’m incredibly grateful for the level of care I’ve received here and highly recommend them to anyone needing physiotherapy Nathan.”Read moreShow less
