“It is concerning that this organization is employing non-Indigenous therapists to provide Indigenous counseling services. A significant portion of the therapists—approximately 90%—are from outside the Indigenous community, which raises questions about the authenticity and cultural relevance of the support provided. This practice not only overlooks the importance of cultural competence and lived experience in healing, but it also perpetuates the systemic marginalization and exploitation of Indigenous people. It appears that the primary motivation here is financial gain, rather than genuinely addressing the needs of our community. Until the organization prioritizes hiring Indigenous therapists who can offer culturally informed and respectful support, I would strongly advise against seeking services here.”Read moreShow less

“Psychologist at this location disclosed information from my sessions to a ex partner without my permission resulting in harassment that continues to this day. She grossly violated her professional ethics, took no responsibility, and even blamed me for her failure. I strongly advise people to avoid this place. Edit: I made repeated attempts to contact this person via the contact information given during our sessions, been given no response, and faced repeat harassment. I refuse to talk by phone as no record can be made of the conversation.”Read moreShow less

“I am so grateful for the Indigenous Psychological Services and Leigh being my therapist. In the beginning there was some communication errors but with proper follow-up and understanding of my personal needs, everything was resolved and moving forward I’ve been happy with the services I have received ever since. It’s so important that Indigenous people receive help and support by Indigenous led agencies because the care and treatment plan is so rooted in Indigenous values and wellbeing. I would highly suggest IPS to anyone. Thank you to this team and especially Leigh for their continued support and services ❤️”Read moreShow less
