Honestly BEST PSYCHOLOGIST I'VE EVER HAD! 100/100!! I haven't Seen Farrel in 3 years because I've been doing so well! I understand this review is well overdue but just know that Farrel will by far pass your expectations! If I could give him 100 stars I would! You will be in goods.

He's a precisely average psychologist. Will start sessions 5 minutes late but not extend you by 5 minutes or will even start late and end early. His sessions are formulaic. Talk a little about what's on your mind, he'll ask a few questions and then give you some pointers or a worksheet, and wrap up and collect your bill by 47 minutes past the hour. Every session he asks what you want to focus on, which might be nice, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of continuation from week to week or picking up where things were left off when you are asking that question every week. I also am not convinced he is truly trained to handle complex trauma as I often felt worse for days after my sessions and he didn't really offer anything to help me cope with that, until I just clammed up and stopped talking about it and used it as venting sessions instead. Stopped going as it very much just seemed like I was adrift in venting sessions with a paid friend. Also you can tell by his naivety about the world around him and some of the things that come out of his mouth that he has led an extremely privileged existence and has never known true hardship (he is the son of a medical doctor). He tried to "give me insights" into why family members were abusive to me, for instance (victim blamey much?) and there were multiple occasions where I shared experiences of abuse and then almost felt like I was needing to defend my lived experience to him. He's a nice enough guy, just a little sheltered and probably shouldn't be dealing with trauma and abuse clients – he should stick to mental illness management.

Great listener, Farrel has a nice blend of empathy and logic and has helped me to cultivate peace with myself. When speaking with Farrel, I feel assured knowing that I am in full control of our interaction. I know that if I asked him to just listen and that I need empathy at the moment, he would do so gently. On the other hand, if I asked him to be critical and give me feedback or actionable tips, he would give me the exact tool I need.

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Went in with a unique situation and Brandon was super helpful. Has a good, calm vibe that makes him easy to talk to, very kind and was quick in getting me some documents I needed. Highly recommend!

I wrote a review under another account by accident and it doesn't seem to show up so I've copy/pasta'd my review here: "Farrel is very personable and currently doing virtual visits, but I look forward to in-person visits again post-pandemic. The office is professional and a great atmosphere to feel like you're just hanging out with a friend, who happens to be well-educated in psychology and will help you with your problems until your time is up. I was so nervous my first time booking that I called and immediately hung up. Farrel called back and was so friendly on the phone that booking an appointment and actually showing up was made so much easier! [edited to add I don't have the same anxiety that I used to but I just about had a panic attack making that call, so you're not alone.] He has excellent resources to share and always wears great socks. If you're nervous about therapy, you should always start with someone who wears cool socks." SECOND EDIT: I've found our sessions to be a perfect balance of letting me vent and letting me think. Farrel knows how to carry on a good, chill conversation when needed and guide me through some questions that help me get to the next step in life. I always leave feeling better and more clear about what I want and what I'm capable of. I've been very lucky to hit it off with the first psychologist that I've seen (off campus anyway; I saw a psychiatrist on campus and legitimately HATED that person). If you're looking for a low-stress environment because you already have too much going on in life, I highly recommend him. If you have anxiety about meeting new people and compare seventeen websites before picking a dentist like I do - try Greenspan Psychology. No ragrats over here.

After having multiple horrible therapy experiences, a friend of mine convinced me to give it one more shot. Farrel Greenspan’s office was close to my work, and he had the ease of online scheduling, so I thought I would give it a try. It turns out that Farrel’s “style” of therapy was exactly what I was looking for - a balance between just chatting about my life and how it is going paired with concrete strategies (usually around CBT and mindfulness) that I can implement right away. When I would leave a session, I left feeling more capable, more confident and more relaxed. This was a stark difference from my prior therapeutic experiences that made me feel like something was wrong with me. Those therapists made me feel like I had to change because I was to blame for my problems. Farrel Greenspan never once made me feel judged or inadequate in any way. He helped me see my difficulties with a different perspective, and then helped me determine how I wanted to deal with things. I remember reading on his website that he believed his clients are experts in their own lives. His practice reflects that philosophy. If your idea of a good therapist is someone who quietly sits there with an occasional, “How does that make you feel?” Farrel Greenspan probably wouldn’t be a great fit for you. If instead you are looking for someone who can keep up their end of a good conversation (occasionally playing devil’s advocate) while simultaneously suggesting concrete skills for you to use and helps you focus on being your most authentic self, call Farrel.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Greenspan for almost 4 years now on a consistent basis. At first I was hesitant to see a therapist because I wanted to work with someone who could see through my convoluted ideas and thoughts and frankly, outsmart me. I first started seeing him because of my self-esteem issues but I experience NONE of those fears and emotions anymore thanks to his help (it’s crazy to even type that). Lately we’ve been working on other areas of my life including work, relationships and becoming my best self. The sessions with him have helped me to stand up for myself. To feel more assertive. To believe in my rights. To truly be the strong woman I am. I am eternally grateful for his guidance, support, reassurance, listening ears and contemplative questions. 10/10 would recommend. 🙂

Good day, I was attending Ferrells office for about two years now on and off. After an accident in work along with other issues since being in Canada, my life plummeted to say the least. Ferrel helped me regain many atibutes. He is a Caring gentle man, and I would recommend Ferrel 100%. Don't let your worries get you down and give Ferrel a call today. I only wish I knew him on a personal basis. Thank you Ferrel.

Resisted the idea of seeing a therapist. Heard numerous stories that people usually have to change from one therapist to another because of incompatibility. First session with Farrel Greenspan and I was able to poured my heart out. He has a calming presence that greatly helped especially as a first timer. His office and space is simple and inviting. He gives insights to simple ordinary things/sayings that makes sense. He simplifies the clutter in your mind as if allowing you, to be you. After every session, I leave feeling like a renewed human being. I always look forward to our sessions. Thank you Farrel!
