The retreat created a small, comforting and nurturing community through our shared loss. It gave me camaraderie with other grievers, which helps me not feel alone in my grief. Exercises like shuttle writing helped me to express difficult emotions and to feel seen and understood. Smaller informal conversations had the same benefit. The retreat encouraged me to feel and express difficult emotions. It allowed a break from everyday pressures that prevent me from processing my grief. The program was a good mix of challenging therapeutic exercises and healthy, relaxing activities like yoga, sound baths, saunas and swimming. We were eased into the challenging parts. Brigitte, Ali, Joanne and Wendy are talented facilitators. The nature setting was beautiful and peaceful. The food was incredible, farm-to-table and prepared with flair and care by Greg and Jesse – not what I was expecting in the middle of the forest. There was so much laughter as well as tears! I am not a group person, but the bond with my new friends is a true comfort and support.

Embracing Grief: A Weekend Nature Retreat May 21-24, 2026 Brigitte and co-facilitator Ali gifted me with a weekend that was both restful and powerful, allowing me to embrace my grief in the safe & supported peaceful environment of the Northern Edge Algonquin Retreat Centre. Their compassionate and gentle way-of-being allowed me to be courageous and to trust in the process - a good balance of structure and quiet time - and I came away all the better for it, armed with new rituals and practices to lean into, as I journey forward alongside grief. Apprehensive at first? Yes!! But, I encourage you to step outside your comfort zone, be brave, and share your grief story in this way. You'll end up feeling grounded, connected to community, supported, and cared for. Thank you, with all my heart, Brigitte and Ali!

I would recommend the Grief retreat at the Northern Edge. It was a very small group and everyone got to share and feel each others grief. No one judges and you become a small village and feel each others pain of grief. It is good to let the grief out and let others support you with love and hugs. I would recommend this grief retreat to anyone who is suffering.

Brigitte's grief retreat was one of the most incredible things I've ever experienced. She brings so much love and realness to the work of grieving in community, and she also creates space for everyone's unique healing process to unfold. I feel so blessed to have come across her work and to have taken part in such a beautiful experience.

No words can quite express how profound this experience was and still is, as I carry it with me always. Take the leap, and we will fly, together ✨️

After a long lifetime of mental imprisonment I finally enjoy freedom more often than not and Brigitte's office enviroment is a perfect match for My personality.
