“I would NOT recommend Ivy Armstrong at all. This is NOT a safe space, and the counsellor allowed it to become unsafe. They are NOT trauma informed. The counsellor was clearly not prepared for couples counselling. There were multiple phone calls to all parties in the hour before the appointment just trying to get everything set up, including links that hadn’t been prepared. We were about 10 minutes late to the actual appointment time because of this Most couples counsellors meet with each person individually beforehand to discuss triggers, boundaries, safe words/signals, and topics that are off limits or need to be approached carefully. None of that happened I specifically told her that we were there because I am currently in the thick of postpartum struggles. Despite knowing that, she allowed HIM to go on at length about some of my darkest and most traumatic experiences. .. things I am still actively dealing with and that continue to trigger my PTSD. She didn’t stop him, check in with me, ask whether I was comfortable with him sharing those things, or even ask if I was okay, I felt completely exposed and unsupported in what was supposed to be a safe counselling environment I would absolutely not recommend this counsellor for couples therapy, especially for anyone dealing with trauma or particularly vulnerable circumstances. I hung up due to this, 30 min into appt. Got charged for an hour. Wasn’t allowed back into chat at 345 even tho appt was til 4”

“I've been a client at Breland Counselling for 6 months or so and the work I have done with Ashley has been life giving. I have done a session of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (in addition to several other sessions) that was so incredible I would recommend it to anyone. Other notable things: 1) the clinic offers, in person, video and phone appointments, all of which I have done and appreciate having the access to so many options. 2) the physical space is welcoming, private and always has Kleenex. 3) Payment is saved in my online file and is very convenient, but I do submit it to insurance after my appointment. (Not sure if direct billing is a option.)”

“I felt instantly comfortable talking to Ashley and we dug deep even in the very first session, the second session was so powerful. I thought I would dread these appointments but I find myself looking forward to speaking with her and taking notes of what I need to work through between sessions. I love that they offer a variety of appointment options as well since phone calls are most convenient for me over in-person or video chats. Do yourself a favour and book a discovery call with Ashley!”
