“It is clear that they only exist to take your money. They lied to me and lied to their own clinicians in order to ensure that I was a client there. After things went badly, the owner called me personally and yelled at me as if it was my fault.”

“The specialist did not seem like he had any experience. I went for part 1 history and assessment. I’d already filled out most of the information in an online form but the specialist spent 30 mins going over the same information again. I didn’t get back anything from the session. I was regurgitated the same information i already received from a doctor at the ER after my concussion. I do not see any value add from this clinic.”Read moreShow less

“The physios in this place are really good. I was very happy with my physiotherapist. However the whole neuroscientist doctor that calls you or whatever is a complete money grab. I gained zero knowledge from my call with that doctor, she doesnt even see you in person and tries to convince you that you need to spend more money to get better. It feels like she’s giving you information but nothing that will actually make you better. So anyone who’s reading this that is freshly concussed, in your initial assessment, dont do that phone call with them as it is also a lot of money, just do the impact test so your physio can understand how bad is your concussion. Also the clinic itself is pretty expensive and greedy, if you have to cancel last minute due to getting sick or whatever (life doesnt always happen with 48 hours notice) they will be very stern and strict about you having to pay for whole missed appointment. I know this is policy but i do expect some humanity from a clinic that are helping people who cant even look at a screen properly. Also they will try and push you to get kinesiology but they will literally just make you redo the exercises your main physio gave. So dont fall for that either. “If your situation is that ICBC is paying for your treatment, no need to keep reading. This clinic is fine (though there are other similar options in the city, listed below). If you are paying out of pocket, then I have advice to share. I came here on doctor's advice when my post concussion symptoms worsened after a month. I was paying out of pocket and was extremely concerned about money, as I was so sick that I couldn't work. The lead doctor in an intro call assured me they would work with me, even suggesting that they were considering starting up group therapy classes again. So I paid the 600ish dollars for the initial assessment and started coming in 3x per week, per their advice. You have to understand, I was incredibly sick and desperate to get better. I stopped coming after 3 months out of sheer frustration. I repeatedly asked if we could do exercises that weren't part of my daily program that I was doing at home, but was told they needed to assess what was triggering symptoms. This wasn't happening in our sessions, as it turns out my issue wasn't vestibular in the traditional sense, but was rather a migraine - the second I described how my vertigo presented to a neurologist, they diagnosed this. Its weird to me that this clinic that is meant to be multidisciplinary didn't make any effort to better investigate what my symptoms could be triggered by when I didn't respond "normally" to treatment for an extended period. All in all, if I did this again, I would go to a cheaper clinic (tall tree also has a specialized concussion program and they are great, also contact GF strong for free resources), would get an exercise plan to do independently every day and only go in every two weeks. This of course depends on the symptoms you're having, but I didn't find this clinic was worth the additional upfront fee or costlier sessions, nor did they seem capable of pivoting treatments when I didn't respond in a typical manner. The financial burden and having to advocate repeatedly for changing how my appointments were being run added a lot of stress and likely exacerbated my symptoms. I will note that this is 2 years later and some things may have changed, it's taken me some time and distance to be able to write this review, but I hope it's helpful to someone!”Read moreShow less

“My experience was great. I am so thankful that I booked an appointment and went for detailed/core assessment. They were very nice, helpful, and understanding. They answered all of my questions. They gave me a clear idea of my base line in terms of concussion. Hopefully I get better. I recommend this clinic to anyone with concussion. “Advance Concussion Clinic has been a lifesaver for me. I had post concussion symptoms very badly for 18 months before I found them. I was sick (like sick in bed) every day with nausea, brain fog, vision and balance problems, pain, etc, even though I had been treated extensively elsewhere. Their diagnostic approach was orders of magnitude more thorough and in depth than any other place, including the highly reputable rehab hospital I was initially sent to. They were able right away to be much more specific about my actual injury (where other places just gave me general info about concussions). I was confused at first by their exercise based model of treatment, but after about 2 months I had a major breakthrough that had me back skiing and working again without symptoms. I still had symptoms with kayaking and other ocean sports but they persisted and I eventually able to apply the same breakthrough there as well. This past long weekend I went kayak camping with my sons for 3 days and 2 nights - hours of paddling, hiking, hauling boats and gear, sleeping in a tent on the ground - and I had no symptoms at all. I am so grateful for the whole team there, especially Gevorg (physio) and Raymond (kinesiologist). You gave me my life back and I am so grateful!”Read moreShow less
