Growing up in a multicultural environment, Vickie is committed to providing a culturally sensitive approach to therapy. She provides counselling in both Mandarin and English to help clients feel comfortable and understood in their preferred language.
Vickie holds:
- An Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Toronto
- A Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the University of British Columbia.
- Since her undergraduate years, Vickie has been engaging in mental health practices across hospital settings, counselling centers, and rehabilitation centers.
- Specializes in providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR),
- Solution-Focused Therapy (SFBT).
- She is also a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT-informed)
- and an Internal Family Systems (IFS-informed) counsellor.
Passionate about providing evidence-based and trauma-informed care, Vickie has had the privilege of supporting individuals recovering from traumatic experiences and accidents. She draws from a holistic approach, recognizing how emotional, psychological, and physical impacts can deeply affect mental health. In Vickie’s work, she recognizes each individual’s inherent strength and resilience as the foundation for recovery. For her, counselling is more than addressing concerns; it is also about supporting each person with genuine care alongside their healing journey.
