About Wylie

Founder and Clinical Director ----------------- Client focus: Adults ---------------- As a Métis person growing up in a family plagued by addiction and violence, my early life was a constant struggle. Each day felt like an uphill battle as I tried to find my place in the world amidst the confusion and pain of bullying and abuse. These experiences have given me a unique perspective on life and have shaped me into the empathetic and compassionate counsellor I am today. Although my upbringing was challenging, it has also allowed me to connect with my clients in a way that few others can, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help others find their way through difficult times. Throughout my life, I have explored many professions and roles, ranging from being a live games pit boss to an accredited financial planner. Although these experiences were diverse, they all contributed to preparing me for my true calling, counselling. I believe that they have given me a well-rounded understanding of the world, which enables me to relate to almost anyone. Helping others navigate life's challenges is my passion, and I pour my heart and soul into every session. Now, as a happily married family man and father of two young children, I find this career to be even more rewarding than ever. As someone who has experienced trauma firsthand, I understand how devastating it can be. However, I also know that hope and healing are possible, and I am dedicated to helping my clients find them. Using empirically supported therapies such as EMDR, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of therapy. I believe that everyone has the potential to heal and grow, and I am honoured to be a part of my clients' journeys. For me, nothing is more satisfying professionally than witnessing my clients succeed and reach their full potential.
