About Wesley

Wesley is the founder and owner of ASCEND Rehabilitation Collective. After graduating from the University of Toronto with honors in his Bachelors of Kinesiology, he completed his registration and spent time working in, and investigating, private practice settings. In working with a variety of populations, Wesley found that he felt inhibited in the ability to truly and extensively progress and journey with people past the point of finite clinical care - based on the existing rehabilitation models, and the extent of the physical environments. This prompted a realization of the inherent value and opportunity in creating an environment that fostered continual and impactful lifestyle modification with respect to exercise and health within, and beyond, injury rehabilitation. From this perspective, he seeks to prioritize people, with a specific focus on their health and well-being. As a Registered Kinesiologist, Wesley is driven to promote the understanding and use of movement and exercise in physical rehabilitation, and a tool to increase physical competence. With a background as a multi-sport athlete, professional hockey goalie coach, strength and conditioning coach, and one who has personal experience recovering from injury, Wesley understands the value in pursuing improved health and function.
