About Travis
Hello! My name is Travis Funk and I have a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University and am a Certified Canadian Counsellor. Outside of my school studies, I am in the law enforcement field and enjoy spending time with my family. We can often be found at the rink, enjoying the trails of Medicine Hat, and always have a home improvement project on the go!
I have spent the last 5 years of my career working with vulnerable populations, including people experiencing crisis situations, people living with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. The diversity of my experiences has given me a unique perspective, seeing people from a compassionate and empathetic viewpoint.
My strengths lie in the area of community partnerships while working with clients from a person-centered approach. This line of work has developed a passion to expand my knowledge and help people find their inner strengths to begin taking control of their lives. I have made Medicine Hat my home since 2003 and take pride in serving the people of our community.
Message to future clients: I will strive to understand how you view the world and how your experiences have impacted you. I appreciate the privilege of being able to work collaboratively with you towards your goals. I will no doubt learn something from each and every one of you as we work together finding the best way to manage the challenges in your lives.
