About Tara

Tara is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master's degree in Counselling and Psychology and a certified Perinatal Mental Health Specialist. Tara is a mom of three and became passionate about maternal mental health after experiencing postpartum depression, severe sleep deprivation, and several pregnancy losses throughout her fertility journey. It was after the loss of her own mother when her third child was a newborn that she realized how alone, isolating, and overwhelming parenthood can be and became eager to provide those with the support and understanding that is so lacking in our communities. Tara has a special interest in supporting those who have suffered from miscarriages, grief, infertility, and birth trauma. She strives to create a brave, non-judgmental space where clients can feel validated, empowered, and safe to explore their experiences, become more self-aware, and discover new perspectives. While Tara draws on many different modalities such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused, and mindfulness, she takes a client-centred approach rooted in warmth, empathy, and the belief that everyone has the potential to change and thrive. She works collaboratively with clients to help them achieve their goals and be their best selves by listening, holding space, and bringing genuineness and compassion to the therapeutic relationship.
