I have a wealth of experience and expertise in social work, particularly when it comes to working with the most marginalized clients. I have worked for the last ten years in the field of mental health (working with incarcerated people, women fleeing domestic abuse, ER/complex care/ICU, childhood separation, child welfare involvement, immigration challenges, etc.). I am also committed to working with children who were a part of the child welfare system, previously incarcerated and live with a neuro-diverse disorder. I work with each individual to address their unique needs and challenges. I use various therapeutic modalities such as trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy (SFT), narrative therapy and emotional-focused therapy (EFT). This therapeutic approach offers a comprehensive approach to healing the trauma and working on taking your life back. The use of evidence-based approaches can be highly effective in managing one’s anxiety, coping with symptoms of depression, working through trauma and tackling life’s stressors as they arise. My extensive educational background, which includes a Master of Arts (M.A.) and a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree, and my current status as a PhD candidate in social work further underscores my qualifications and commitment to the field. I have a strong foundation in academic knowledge and practical experience, which is invaluable in helping clients heal. I am guided by an empathic and therapeutic approach and emphasize the importance of finding the right therapist. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is crucial in helping build rapport as they begin their journey toward recovery and healing.
